Woodland Interior at Pont-Aven

A Swiss-born painter who acquired French nationality, Jules Girardet was particularly fond of historical scenes. This painting hung on the walls of the Hôtel Julia. The painting is in a fairly free Impressionist style and was produced en plein air, a rare occurrence in the artist’s repertoire.
