The white dome is the “Residencia” where astronomers from ESO are living and working daily, on VLT complex.
On the left, we can see Orion constellation inverted, as seen from the southern hemisphere. In the southern skies we can observe with the unaided eye, the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds (LMC and SMC), two irregular dwarf galaxies, orbiting the Milky Way galaxy. In this image, they are visible on the right center.
