This Dutch commemorative blue ad white plate marks the occasion of the very cold winter of January and February 1940, which was one of the most brutal winters in war time Europe. This wall plate depicting a steam train in the snow, is probably the last commemorative plate series produced by the factory De Porceleyne Fles before German occupation of The Netherlands in May 1940.
