From London Midland & Scottish Railway Collection. Inside the writing room at the London & North Western Railway's Euston station, about 1908.
These rooms were used by passengers who needed to make telephone calls or send telegrams. By 1908 over 1000 British stations had telegraph facilities for public use. Passengers had to pay a small charge to use the facilities.
The room is decorated with scenic photographs by the L&NWR's official photographers.
