Photograph of a group of Women's Social and Political Union campaigners in a car. On the side of the car is a banner proclaiming 'Vote Against The Government And Keep The Liberal Out'. Handwritten on the back of the card is 'Ada Flatman, Georgina Brackenbury, Vera Holme all Holloway prisoners', the date '1911' and a description of the scene: 'Georgina Brackenbury and S. Ada Flatman sitting in back of car with Vera Holme standing by poster and Geraldine Lyster my Hon Sec. sitting in front of car, at the Cheltenham by-election where the Liberal Candidate was defeated (W. Mathias) by Mr James Agg Gardner (Later Sir James) by a close majority of 4 votes. I was in the Town Hall & on the balcony when poll was declared at 11:30pm after three counts!!'
