Wörlitz, Villa Hamilton Fireplace Room

The walls of the extremely splendid fireplace room are decorated with copied and coloured engravings showing the Greek goddesses Horen. The magnificently decorated ceiling, on the other hand, shows views of Vesuvius, antique vases and decorations based on antique models. The sandstone fireplace features blue and white reliefs from the Wedgwood workshop. The chairs here were designed by Erdmannsdorff after models taken from antique vases.
