This early prototype of the Hungarian Büidesign’s Silentio cradle is a bold reinterpretation of a piece of furniture once common and distinctive but now marginalized. With its dynamic and clean forms and the simultaneous use of traditional and modern materials and technologies, it achieves an organic unity between the artisanal craft of old times and modern design.
Despite the asymmetrical leg construction and the use of a high-tech material (stainless steel) rarely used for similar objects, all the design elements and details bring to mind classic artisanal manufacturing—while the concept is modern and ready for serial production.
