Redempta is one of the women supported by Carakana Program and here she shares her story: A SOURCE OF PEACE
"My name is Redempta, I am a 55-year-old married mother of six. I joined the cross stitch project in 2017 when they came into prisons. I worked on this roses pattern which took me five weeks to complete. I have been able to buy Christmas presents and clothes for my children and myself. I also send money to my family back at home for their upkeep. Personally, I used to spend days sleeping after doing the prison mandated work. It was all I did and I was swamped with thoughts of home and depression about being a prisoner but when I started stitching, it consumed my mind and gave me peace as I stitched. May God bless Carakana for remembering to empower us."
