Kaspar Bonnén puts democratic institutions and processes under the microscope in his four paintings for this committee room. According to the artist, there is a straight line from the parliament of the streets to the parliament at Christiansborg palace. The pictures were painted in a deliberately naive, figurative idiom. Kaspar Bonnén has created a poetic, pictorial statement about life in Parliament and in society and about the interplay between them. He emphasises politics as one of the fundamental, central aspects of life. Author: Lisbeth Bonde, M.A and art critic. Photographer: Torben Eskerod.
