Gargallo presented the lead original of this work, with the title Noia jove, in the Special Room dedicated to him at the Barcelona Art Exhibition in 1921.
As far as we know, he made, during the first half of the 1920s, only seven works in lead sheet, specifically, in addition to this one and the Portrait of Ángel [Fernández] de Soto (which would later become two, when he separated his hand). , Violinist (or The Virtuoso), 1920, The Elegant (or Parisienne Élégante), 1921 (from which he would later also separate the Hand of the Elegant, 1921, the head currently remaining unlocated), Woman with a Parasol, 1921 (perhaps the first and very unique example of recessed modeling, from which he separated the Galgo, 1921, which accompanied the female figure, today at an unknown location), Woman in her toilette (or La toilette, whose location we also do not know), 1921, and Woman lying down, 1923, a brief ensemble later remembered by Harlequin with Mandolin, 1925, a very unique piece in which, probably for the first and only time, he mixed lead and iron sheets.
