Yu Mai Gee Fon, 1986–2004, is a visual homage to the artists immigrant parents, Gee Seow Hong and Gee SueyTing. Started in 1986, Flo Oy Wong, began sewing rice sacks together. She would later realize that the work came to depict the shooting of her father in April of 1940. It become a homage to family coming together during a traumatic time, her father (who survived the attack) and her mother who did not stop to find the man that shot her father.
