    NOT FOR PUBLICATION BEFORE THURSDAY 7TH MAY, 1964. PRINCE PHILIP TO OPEN OIL REFINERY IN NORTHERN IRELAND. ERF. G5094. 7.5.1964. H.R.H. PRINCE PHILIP WILL OPEN THE BRITISH PETROLEUM REFINERY (NORTHERN IRELAND) LIMITED TODAY. THE REFINERY, SITUATED SOME SIX MILES FROM THE BELFAST CITY CENTRE, IS ABLE TO PROCESS SOME 1,300,000 TONS OF CRUDE OIL PER YEAR AND HAS COST APPROXIMATELY £7,000,000. HIGHLY INTEGRATED AND COMPACT, ALL OPERATIONS ARE CONTROLLED FROM A SINGLE CONTROL ROOM IN THE PROCESSING AREA. THE REFINERY HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO MANUFACTURE THREE GRADES OF MOTOR SPIRIT, AVIATION TURBINE KEROSINE, PREMIUM GRADE KEROSINE, PROPANE, BUTANE, AUTOMOTIVE GAS OIL, INDUSTRIAL GAS OIL, FUEL OILS, REFINERY GAS AND SULPHUR.
