Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) with overlaid dyed-red/brown apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decoration). Rectangular in shape. The kete has a patara (serrated) rim. The pattern consists of hetu matariki (motif in the shape of a 'little star') encased within a square box known as piha rikiriki (square defined by lines with coloured space within). Rows of punarua (row of natural coloured squares, each standing on one corner) and viti (vertical lines of check) surround each individual square. Evidence of a tatai (handle) that has broken off.
