Zhong Kui is known as the vanquisher of ghosts and all evil beings in Chinese mythology. This is a freestanding-carved peach pit sculpture featuring Zhong Kui and demons he has subdued. The Zhong Kui here, with an extremely severe face, is sitting on the ground with his legs crossed, holding a wine vessel in one of his hand. There are ten demons stand in service around him, with one holding lanterns, one carrying the sward, one with the umbrella and another with the fan, ect. All the demons look careful and intimidated.
