This sound/visual installation consists of three core, complementary elements: a video; objects with sound samples and/or streaks of colour; and public interaction. Drawing from the concept of synaesthesia—the relationship between the senses (in this case, hearing and vision, through sounds and colours)—the work revolves around a question put to 16 musical soloists: “What is the colour of your musical instrument?”. The artists open the exhibition space by inviting the public to play around with a number of sensor devices, causing a random visual cacophony.
