This program details a series of events held in honor of the one hundredth anniversary of William Lloyd Garrison's birth, including gatherings at his gravesite, former home, Faneuil Hall, and a procession from the statue of Garrison on the Commonwealth Avenue Mall to the African Meeting House. Speakers and performers included surviving abolitionists like John J. Smith, Mark De Mortie and Eliza Gardner, veterans' organizations and leading members of the early twentieth century black community.
