Reynolds Stonec. 1967

Bank of England Museum

Bank of England Museum
London, United Kingdom

A £5 (series C) Bank of England banknote. Notably, this was the first Bank of England £5 banknote to have the Monarch's portrait on the front of the design. The back features a young Britannia, modelled after the banknote designer's daughter. She is surrounded by geometric patterns. The design is predominately blue and printed on threaded, watermarked paper. The note has been stamped "paid" on the left hand side.
