She was born in 1960 and her vocation for arts manifested soon in life, painting sceneries and posters of sociocultural events, some of them made in the atelier of the Sá da Bandeira Theatre, in 1980. She has a degree in Law, she abandons the prospect of a legal career to devote herself exclusively to painting since 1992. Studied Design and Advertising Art in Francisco Nunes’ Atelier and specialized herself in the techniques and methods of Betty Edwards. She also studied Art and Public Space, History of the Portuguese Contemporary Art, Engraving and Lithography in ESAP. The initiative to paint the work titled “Rio Águeda” (Águeda River), was due to the will of humbly honour the city, through the project Estações D’Arte – Outonos Inquietos, in Fundação Dionísio Pinheiro e Alice Cardoso Pinheiro. A first intuitive smudge forms on canvas, followed by another, and an another one more conscious, originating, step by step, a game of forms. The black shades of land and water are similar in its isolation and rest. The apparent Emptiness caused by the absence of characters infers the fullness of Presence. They are implicit in silence, where it is possible to feel and the pulsar of the concerns.
