Şimâl-i Şarkî Anadolu’da Tedkîkat-i Ziraiyye (“The Study of Agriculture in Northeast Anatolia”), which was written as a 94-page book in 1924, greets its readers with its beautiful cover showing a green leaf. Mr. Hoca Ali Rıza, who was the Deputy Director and Professor of Botany of the School of Agriculture at the time, focuses on the northern region of our country and explains the agricultural conditions there. This is one of the interesting books written on a particular region. Cities of Artvin, Batum and Kars are also included in its scope and the subjects include okra and tea. The subject is addressed in such detail with graphics, diagrams and statistical information that this book can be referred as the best book of its kind, on agricultural activities in our northern region. The book has illustrations, photographs, very detailed graphics and inferences, especially on the subject of tea. It’s like an archival book on tea.
