"Żywot Józefa"/ "The life of Joseph" by Rej, director: Kazimierz Dejmek, stage design: Andrzej Stopka; from the left: Wojciech Siemion (Joseph), Barbara Rachwalska (Zefira).“Żywot Józefa”/ “The life of Joseph” – a morality play by Mikołaj Rej, the second Old Polish adaptation by Dejmek and Stopka on the National Stage that turned out to be a living and topical theatre. Critics appreciated the charm of mature primitivism, beautiful colouring of the scenery, humour and grace of the archaic but comprehensible language. The performance was welcomed with enthusiasm during guest performances of the National Theatre across Europe.
