Born in Bengal, Lalu Prasad Shaw is an Indian painter and printmaker known for his highly stylised portraits of Bengali men and women. He completed his education in fine arts at the Government College of Art and Craft in Kolkata. He was inspired by Rajasthani and Mughal miniatures, mural paintings and colonial Company School paintings. Shaw's paintings are incredibly detailed contemporary portraits that combine these styles.
