This female bust is adorned with a "wasps nest" hairstyle with three rows of overlapping curls in the front and braids brought back.This hairstyle was made fashionable by Julia, daughter of Titus wife of Domiciano during the Flavian period. The bust comes from a Roman Villa in Milreu, Faro. This bust shows the importance of imperial fashion in the Roman socio-economic elites in Lusitania during the 1st-2nd centuries AD.
