‘FM 94’

Built by Firestone Lantern Club this lantern depicted a local radio station with a disc jockey and a group of performers. A large satellite dish at one end and a globe at the other serve to demonstrate the station’s supposed world-wide reach. The 1991 Lantern Parade was eventually cancelled owing to the outbreak of Sierra Leone’s civil war but this lantern was later completed and performed locally.
