‘Sport Billy’ Fair Play Trophy

FIFA Fair Play award won by the England team at the World Cup Italia ’90.

The Fair Play Trophy was introduced at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina which at the time was under military rule have been subject to a coup two years earlier.

The comic like, cartoonish innocent depiction of trophy clearly at odds with a regime that locked up political prisoners only 250 meters away from the stadium where the final was held.
