In “Let the Artists Die”, the character of Tadeusz Kantor appears in dramatis personae four times: “I – A real character, the main originator of everything TADEUSZ KANTOR” refers to the figure of the artist on stage; “I – DYING a stage character” and “AUTHOR of the stage character – dying, describing his own self and his death in him” were performed by Lesław and Wacław Janicki. In the text “I” featured in the programme for the production, one reads: “These two characters (in the performance) like twins are more than a double. (…) I venture to search for myself…! I create my second self. My creation. My creation and I. Facing one another! It is a kind of madness”. And finally, the character “I – AT THE AGE OF 6”, performed by a boy (usually Michał Gorczyca).
