By pressing a button on this set with extended frequency range, viewers could chose between VHF (very high frequency) and UHF (ultra high frequency). As of 1961, viewers in Germany could receive a test broadcast of ARD 2 programming in the UHF range. This programming station was replaced by the German station ZDF in 1963. Another “extra” was the “Telelupe” (tele-magnifier) option, which would zoom the image. However, this feature did not catch on.
