Tokoname ware is pottery being produced around Aichi Prefecture, Tokoname City. In Tokoname potters began to have mass production by using Anagama (underground or semi-underground type kiln) in Kamakura period. In Muromachi period potters had mass production of large pot and jar by using ground type kiln. This jar is glazed naturally by ash and costs ash glaze of nature. It is believed that was used to store cereals. First, the potter creates the top and bottom separately. Second he makes the jar by piecing them.
