Woodblocks and sieve, Edo Karakami

Large woodblock and sieve used for applying mica powder on the woodblock necessary for mica woodblock printing of Edo karakami paper. Many of these items were lost during the Great Kanto Earthquake and the air raids on Tokyo, forcing artisans to create new woodblocks and thus resulting in the change of woodblock size.
