Jade Pendants

Hubei Provincial Museum

Hubei Provincial Museum
Wuhan, China

These pendants might have been worn from the ears or on the neck or breast. The topmost pendant in the picture above is a cinnabar stone inlaid in gold. There is a ring on the top of the gold frame which holds one rose-red, peach-shaped cinnabar stone. The pendant in the middle is a shiny blue glass bead. To the right and left of the blue bead are two olive-shaped jade earrings. Below, there are four pendants composed of a precious stone with a gold ring on top connected by a gold wire. The gold frame is shaped like a fruit pedicle, with fine veins engraved on one side of each leaf.
