Ramalina roesleri (Hochst. ex Schaer.) Hue 1887

This is one of the important specimens in the lichen collection of this museum. It was collected on Mt. Yangtou in Hualien County by a researcher of this museum in 2000. In 2007, in response to a request by Japanese scholars, a duplicate specimen was sent to the National Museum of Nature and Science in Japan. From chemical analysis, Dr. H. Kashiwandani confirmed that it is the first acquisition of this species in Taiwan in 2008. In early 2009, the results were published by researchers of this museum in issue no. 22 of the Journal of Collection and Research, in an article entitled “A preliminary study of the lichen genus Ramalina at Mt. Yangtou, Hualien County, eastern Taiwan”.
