This dragon robe made of purple silk was, as shown by that its name was included in the list of clothes owned by the King Yeongchin's second son Yi Gu in 1932, made for a young male descendant of the Empire of Korea.
The robe is double-layered, round-collared outer layer (團領) and square-collared inner layer (直領). The outer layer is made of purple silk (緞) woven with a peach and pomegranate motif while the inner layer of red silk (紗) woven with an auspicious cloud and treasure motif. The embroidered imperial insignia featuring a five-clawed dragon are attached on the front and back and on both shoulders. The garment is a very rare example of the formal garment made for Korean imperial children.
