Gourd-shaped earrings were very popular in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. These two gourd-shaped ornaments were found in a box of personal items and may have been used as earrings. The gourd-shaped ornaments were carved from jade and well-polished. Gold decorations are riveted to the top and bottom of the ornaments and a gold hoop around the middle connects a gold ring.
