Garigae, also called gokbyeong, is a two-panel folding screen. Its structure and functions of blocking wind and decorating a wall are the same as ordinary folding screens referred to as byeongpung, but its width is wider than ordinary folding screens. In particular, this was often used to hide the corner of a room or for a decorative purpose. When folded, it provides easy portability and convenient storage with little space needed. This is a larger folding screen with a purple background accompanied by orchids and chrysanthemums painted in ink by Yang Gihun, who also wrote the inscribed poem.
