This is a kind of ko, a trap to lure and entrap moles, and differs from other traps in form. A pair of crescent blades are set in a U shape, and when a mole touches the lure plate between the blades, the two blades come together to catch the mole. When closed, the blades form an X shape, while they form a U shape when set with a spring. This mole trap is installed at the entrance of molehills or animal trails, and is simple to install. The trap is made of hard metal, making it difficult for trapped animals to escape. Even if an animal escapes, it is likely to be severely maimed from the blades.
