NEEDLE CASE

Precious metal and jewels transform this otherwise practical and mundane object into an extraordinary accessory. Inside two compartments contain a compact, a purple velvet pincushion and needle case holding six pins topped with pearls. An inscription indicates its initial owner, ‘Maria Luisa Unzué de Aldao’, followed by her Buenos Aires address, ‘Av. Alvear 1759’.
