This is the largest drum among all Korean musical instruments. It is played on a wooden frame, with a drumstick of which end is wrapped with cloth. Introduced from Song dynasty of China in 1116 (the 11th year of King Yejong of Goryeo), it had been used in various court and ritual music in Joseon period.
