This is a tool used to check the quality of the contents such as rice or salt inside a straw bag or sack by poking it into the sack and then pulling it out. It is also called gansaekdae or taegwan. It is usually made of bamboo or iron, with a diagonally-cut point. The tool was widely used by the government when procuring rice or barley to verify the contents inside a straw bag and grade the product.
