This earthenware was excavated from jar-coffin tomb No.25 in Gyerim-ro, Gyeongju. Every aspect of the cart?the wheels, body, axle, and handle? are extremely realistic. Since carts like this were typically used to transport people, rather than luggage, this piece is presumed to have been produced for the burial ceremony, to help guide the spirit to the afterlife.
