Sujeotong, or spoon stand, is a tool used to store spoons and chopsticks, and is also called jeotong. Its shape was generally cylindrical, and one type consisted of a single cylindrical case, while another was made by joining two cylindrical cases. The stand was decorated with various patterns, generally chain patterns on the shoulder, or painted with flower or leaf motifs on the surface. A spoon stand was commonly made of earthenware or porcelain, although some cases were made by weaving bamboo strips or bush clover.
