Sabanggwan is a headgear worn by the literati in their home in the Joseon Dynasty. It was made of horsehair or fabric. It was also called banggeon or banggwan, all of which refer to the flat square shape of the headgear. This type of headgear is classified into those with an open top and others with a closed top. The latter was developed in the late Joseon Dynasty.
