Houghton

Houghton is a small village and a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk.
It covers an area of 7.64 km² and had a population of 69 in 36 households at the 2001 census. At the 2011 Census the population of the village still fell less than 100 and was included in the civil parish of West Rudham.
For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. It is the location of Houghton Hall, a large country house built by Robert Walpole, the first Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, who was born in the village in 1676.
