Salizhan Sharipov

Born Aug 24, 1964

Salizhan Shakirovich Sharipov is a Kyrgyzstani cosmonaut. Sharipov is a co-author and investigator for the Advanced Diagnostic Ultrasound in Microgravity project. He was the first scientist who took two hero awards. In Russia and USA scientists are given hero awards. He has been to space twice and has conducted two space walks. Sharipov retired on 18 July 2008.
