Margaret Constance "Maisie" Williams is an English actress. She was born in Bristol and raised in Somerset. In 2011, aged fourteen and following her second acting audition, Williams debuted in her first professional dramatic role as Arya Stark, a character in the main cast of the HBO medieval fantasy epic television drama Game of Thrones, a portrayal that suddenly brought Williams global attention. Williams received critical and popular acclaim plus acting accolades for her work on the show. In 2014 Williams featured in her first feature film, the melodramatic coming of age mystery drama The Falling, for which she received critical praise and award recognition. In 2018, she made her stage debut in Lauren Gunderson's I and You at Hampstead Theatre.
Williams other television appearances include in 2015 guest starring in four episodes of the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who, the 2015 British television film docudrama Cyberbully and the 2017 British science-fiction teen thriller film iBoy.
