The most resplendent example of the prominent use of Madhubani art is at the main railway station of Madhubani which leaves no one in doubt that they have arrived at the birthplace of an art form

Madhubani art is so deeply ingrained in the consciousness of the people that all locals who wait for trains at the Madhubani railway station do not give the painted walls surrounding them a second look. This vast public art gallery is for visitors who can find religious epics, mythological characters and fantastic animals a wonderland which though. These were created by the many families of anonymous artists living in Madhubani and the nearby villages of Jitwarpur, Simri, Bhavanipur, Laheriyaganj and Dharbhanga, who were commissioned to bring energy and vibrancy into public spaces that are otherwise prone to defacement or neglect

Madubani Decorates Local Buildings
Taking the cue private institutions like schools and banks have also adopted the ‘Madhubani look’. As a part of government's drive to encourage the use of traditional arts in public spaces, most of the walls in Patna city are painted in the Madhubani style. The themes of these paintings on the streets have been taken from Indian mythology. As a result, most of the public spaces are much cleaner as compared to what they were before.
