The American watercolor painter, Chayim Shvarzblat, was born in Lakewood, New Jersey, in a wealthy family on December 14, 1954.
He finished at the New York School of Art. In 1978, Chayim Shvarzblat moved to Paris and enrolled at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, Paris. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting.
He has showed a big interest for painting since early childhood. During his first years, painting was only a hobby for him. However, after moving to Paris, Chayim realized that he wants to dedicate his life to painting.
This painter has won a number of awards including a Harkness Fellowship in 1980, and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1982. Additionally, Shvarzblat represented the USA at the 1992 Venice Biennale.
