Your Journey
These steel cylinders are used to ship aircraft jets engines from General Electric Company's Lockland, Ohio jet center to the U.S. Air Force. The cylinders have been designed to protect the turbojet against shocks and moisture during shipment. The engine-laden container is non-sinkable. Dehydrated air pumped into the water-tight, air-tight, container provides buoyancy. A quantity of silica gel inside the cylinder absorbs any moisture that might enter.
