Schenectady NY - Specimen marked for further study are viewed under the electron microscope. Although this instrument will magnify up to 24,000 times, it has been found most satisfactory to view specimens at magnifications of 9,000 to 17,000 times. Photographs of the specimen are taken at the selected magnification and then by enlargement of the picture, magnifications ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 times the original are obtained.
