The Navy's new swept-wing fighter, the North American FJ-2 Fury, will be powered by a General Electric engine having a thrust rating in excess of 5,800 pounds. The newest Fury, of which a prototype was first flown just a month ago, is in the 650 miles an hour class, carries four 20 mm cannons, and has a service ceiling in excess of 45,000 feet.
