These photographs show what happened when General Electric Company engineers placed a drop of resin on an automobile windshield and left it stand overnight. Ernest E. Johnson, general manager of the GE General Engineering Laboratory, said resin particles are sometimes found in the atmosphere and may condense as droplets and fall to the windshield of moving cars. He offered the resin theory as one possible explanation fro the epidemic of pitted windshields, which has puzzled motorist from coast to coast
