African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF), a non-governmental organization founded on the ideals of National and International cultural values and Heritage within and beyond Africa which seeks to protect history, promote creativity and project the true image of Africa through the preservation and promotion of rich heritage sites and cultures. Amongst its core objectives is to discover and promote young talented underrepresented/undiscovered story tellers and documentary producers to global prominence by empowering them to document and tell the African stories themselves. AFIDFF works to amplify the voices that have not been heard, embolden social inclusion across gender, give visibility to the unseen and strengthen the strand of cultural cohesion and integration of the vast diversity of
African cultures.
We focus on the conservation of African resources to strengthen the cultural resilience of African Societies in order to hasten the process of social, cultural and economic recovery. Our Social entrepreneurship program goes a long way to bring together entrepreneurs from all walks of life to a platform where their skills can be harnessed and impacted, made and promoted.
The foundation has developed a number of unique programs to achieve its goal of being a pacesetter in the discovery of young talent and promotion of Africa’s rich cultural heritage. The programs include the following; Documentary Screening and Competition, Documentary Box Workshop, Culture and Heritage Site promotion and Preservation, African International Documentary Club, Documentary Festival, Voice of the Dreamer, Support and Empowerment projects, Social Enterprise projects amongst others.
